I was born in South Korea as a healthy son under my father who taught
me honesty and faith and my mother who taught me love. As a young
boy who loved to play sports, I was always outside playing balls after school
until the sun goes down.
While
I was getting ready to get into a college, I got into an accident where I torn my ACL. I think this was the
big turning point in my life. I went back to my daily life through sports rehabilitation and so, I felt it was a very fascinating field as I experienced Athletic Training.
In
the end, I got into Kyung Hee University (KHU) as a Sports Medicine major. I
have studied and practiced at the Athletic Training Room for three years. Although I did not have much clinical experience, I got to do training in KHU Men’s Handball Team. It was a great
opportunity for me to learn many things from the Head Athletic Trainer.
Leaving
one semester until graduation, fortunately, I was able to get a job at the Korean Ginseng Corporation Women’s Badminton Team and worked as an athletic
trainer for two years. As I graft the knowledge that I have learned from the
university with the athletes, my interest in Athletic training grew bigger and
I felt such an accomplishment.
After that, I was a part of Korea National Men's Basketball Team for the 2012 London Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Venezuela as an assistant athletic trainer. Since I worked with passion and pride as a member of national team, I will never forget this experience.
Not
only the passion and interest I have as an Athletic training student, but also the
curiosity and love of challenge allowed me to open my eyes toward the world. I love traveling. I have travelled Japan in 2006, USA for 3 months in 2009, India and Nepal for 1 month in 2012, and Ecuador in 2013.
If I
describe my strength in one sentence, it would be ‘honesty and responsibility’.
Thus, once I decide to do something, I am determined to finish it with highest
effort.
My
first goal is to become an athletic trainer whom many athletes approve of. Then
ultimately, after many experiences, I want to build a training center with my name. If I
maximize my strength, continue learning, and make every effort to be better I
will be able to reach my goal someday.
